God, Thank You

Hey everyone

I am not a huge “Note” person or Blogger on FB or anywhere else but over the past several weeks God has really been showing me some awesome things that I really felt compelled to share with you all. So here it goes…

Have you ever sat back and thought about where God has brought you. I mean where he has taken you, people you have met and why, and things he has brought you through? Through a recent conversation with a brother in Christ, that I have recently met, I was literally brought to tears from the realization of what God has done in my life.

Where has God taken you? Think about it where you are now? Whether that is the school you are attending or the job that you may have. If you had your way would you truly be there? In my own life if I was doing what “I” wanted to do I would not be at BCF, working at Camp Victory, and had the opportunities to do ministry that I have been able to do. If I had MY WAY I would most likely be at Troy University, majoring in Elementary Education.  I also hate to say it but if I had my way my relationship with God would not be where it is today. As I look back on taking the “leap of faith” and allowing God to have complete control over my life God has taken me and used me in ways I would have never thought about before. I am not saying that I am prefect and I do everything that God would like me to do, I am HUMAN and I FAIL.

Not only where God has taken me but with Him taking me there He has allowed me to meet people that have truly impacted my life, and to make “true” friendships that will last a lifetime.  All through my life God has placed people in my path that have made a HUGE impact on my life. Relationships are a big deal to me. I value my family and friends relationships. As I was sharing with someone recent I stated “I don’t know why God allows certain peoples paths to cross but He knows why.” I honestly believe that. God has used people in numerous ways to challenge me mentally, physically, and most importantly SPIRITUALLY! These people know who they are. I truly call these people my Brothers and Sisters in Christ…not just “friends”.  God has a reason for our paths to cross with certain people so don’t take that for granted. Cherish those moments and you never know how God will use you in those relationships.

Along with the places God has taken me and the people he has allowed for me to meet to impact my life God has also been working in my own private life that most people don’t know about. I look at where I have been and the things I have done and I thank God for using those moments to teach and guide me. Just like I was reading in my QT the other day God revealed this to me. “In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons?  “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.” Hebrews 12:4-6 God disciplines His children when we mess up because he loves us and we are commanded to turn from those ways in repentance. I am so glad that God has disciplined me throughout my life and in my relationship with Him. Without that discipline there is no telling where I would be or what kind of person I would have become.

This may all sound like a big ole’ mess but I truly felt lead to write this out, not just for you all to read but more importantly I am thanking my God for all that he has done for me when I don’t deserve it. This note/blog is me shouting out to God saying THANK YOU and I LOVE YOU for what you are doing in and through my life. God may you get all the glory through this. Here is a challenge for you. Look at your life and truly ask God to reveal these things to you like he has to me in a very powerful way here recently.

My Valentine Abi!!

My Valentine Abi!!

Valentines Day!

Yesterday was the day where all of the couples truly are “lovie dovie” and all the singles boast about being single and not being broke! I am loving being single but I would like to tell you that I did have a valentine. Her name was Abi. Abi is a student that attends Slocomb Elementary. Abi is in Kindergarten. She is so sweet. Let me set the scene for you guys…. It was a very pretty day outside it wasnt to hot nor to cold I would say mid 70’s. While playing with the other kids playing tag on the playground I noticed Abi over to the side working hard at filling a plastic bag up with stuff. When I took a quick second to tie Michael’s shoe that had come untied from playing tag. Abi took that moment to approach me. “Mr. Josh?” I heard her sweet voice say from behind me. ” I have a question for you” she asked. “What is it Abi?” i responded. As she stood there with her hands behind her back she asked me the sweetest thing “Would you like to be my Valentine?” I was blown away! It was soooo sweet! I responded with a “YES!” A huge smile came on her face as she said “I made you something.” Bring the hands that were behind her back to the front she held the plastic bag that I seen her with earlier. She said ” I made you a plant” The bag was full of red clay and grass that she pulled up… I loved it! My valentines day was the best ever!! Abi will always have a special place in my heart! I can not pursue her anymore besides her being my valentine because I will go to prison but some guy will be very happy one day when they cross paths with her!  How was your Valentines day?

First day back at the B&GC!!

First day back at the B&GC!!

Welcome to Blogging

Hello blogging world! I am new at this I have never blogged before! I am excited about sharing with you about what is going on in the life of Josh Wilson. HAHA!! First off I am starting my 3rd day back at the Boys and Girls Club. In the past few days I have been told by a little girl that she wanted me to be her father…WHAT!!!! Can I say from working with the B&GC for 4 years that is the 1st I have ever gotten that response. The next day the same girl coughed in my face and laughed about it. Oh I can tell you that it is going to be a very eventful time while working with the B&GC again.

That is just a tad of what has happened here recently! I assure you there is more to come!!!
